Breathe out, and ground into one of your values. Breathe in, and invite a world where technology helps us deepen and grow together in symbiosis. Breathe out, and ground into some of your compassion. At my little company in Toronto, TRU LUV, we spend most of our time thinking about the world we’re creating. We create luscious technologies for building strength and sharing power. We make the invisible visible. Our BENEFICENCE model and ASTRA engine reveal existing creative, intuitive energy, allowing for concrete applications of intuition for cocreation. Our model reproduces in a fractal fashion to create ecosystems of emergent innovation.
BENEFICENCE is an alternative to gamification and extractive models, which may invite reactivity and division at scale. BENEFICENCE and its related set of software development practices, beneficent development, and its related organizational practices, the beneficent organization, are a comprehensive new approach to the creation and maintenance of technology to produce human benefit.
BENEFICENCE is a work in progress and we will be updated these articles as we iterate. We will follow this article with a series of articles explaining the assumptions in our model and some of our inspirations, strategies, aspirations and proven benefit so far. We draw on spirit, science, art, technology and lived experience for our work.

Any app could be reimagined using our model. This model will first be expressed in our still-top-secret new social platform, currently in closed alpha at TRU LUV. On our platform, you may naturally find yourself grounded and collaborating rather than annoyed and defending yourself. Our curation algorithm arranges content to create the conditions for your discovery and development of your latent strengths and talents in several contexts. Our shared rituals help collectives not only discuss cosmolocal issues but also solve them. In our platform, more types of contribution to a collective, including traditionally invisible and traditionally feminine forms of contribution such as relational or emotional forms of labour, are explicitly valued. Resources are shared and distributed. Perhaps movements will be accelerated. We believe that when people are empowered with this much collaboration, they will change the world.
